What Are Your Numbers?

This post will be an eye opener.  Most of you probably ventured here looking on how to get out of the rat race.  Well truth be told, some say I’m still in it.  I highly disagree.  You see, I’m working a 9-5 job.  My health insurance is paid for, I punch in (so to say) from 9 to 5pm and answer to a boss.  The main difference with my job is it accounts for only 1/4 of my income.  I’ve questioned myself multiple times already on why I’m still there.  The bottom line is they need me.  I’m a Certified Google Adwords Professional and oversee over $750,000 dollars in online advertising with them.  I built and manage around 10 websites, conduct A/B landing page testing scenarios, optimize keyphrases with on page SEO as well as off page SEO.  They pay ok, but many times I’ve wondered why not leave?  Leave and simply find a few more clients.

The chances are high that most people plan their resignation much like myself.  They work in a ‘cubicle farm‘ staring at a screen for hours on end.  Then what happens?  They think to themselves, “How much will it take for me to leave this job?”.  I’m no different.  I’ve wondered the same.  I’d guess over 75% have.  Noone wants to be a ‘phone monkey‘ or answer to the boss. Everyone wants to be the boss.

The difference is action. I decided about 9 months ago to take action.  Actively launching my career into web design and online marketing.   The work was so good (and I’m not bragging but its only on par in my opinion) I started receiving a ton of referrals for work.  From there its where I seperated myself from my employer, at least the mindset, and started treating them as if they were just another client.

I’ll show you the tips, the work, the strategy involved with escaping the 9-5 mindset.  The resources I used and still use to gain an upper hand in my career and how you can too.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t know or even want to learn online marketing, you can apply this to all walks of life.  Its your niche.  You decide on what to do with it.
